How to configure Gearbest

Get gearbest Link ID

Gearbest track sales a bit different than other stores. Instead of using affiliate ID's as a mean of identification they use Link IDs
Each time you generate a link on the Gearbest Affiliate page you get a new Link ID. That link ID can be reused for other pages as well, and that's what we're gonna use it for.
First, you need to create an affiliate link for any page on the website. Login to your Gearbest Associate account
You can either

• go to Add center/Promotions Banner and click on "Get Link" button for any product there
• go to Custom Link Generator and create link there. Just put https://www.gearbest.com/ in URL field, give link any name you like and click on "Create Link" button

And here our process diverges from official documentation. Gearbest now returns short url, and there is no Link ID there. Fortunately getting link ID is pretty easy.

• Open short link in your browser. You will be redirected to long url that looks like
  https://www.gearbest.com/?lkid=79813065
  Number behind ?lkid= is your link id. In this case it is 79813065
• On Gearbest associate page, go to Reports/Ad report
  You will see table with all links you have created. In that table there is column "Link/Banner ID". Value in there is your link ID

  

  In future we have plans to add link creation via Gearbest Associate API, so apply for API key if you are interested. Getting API key can take a while

Configure extension

All you need is to copy that Affiliate ID, open extension options, go to Platforms / Big Chinese stores, and paste Link ID in the gearbest field.

Generate affiliate links

Then close options, find the product on Gearbest you want to share and click on the extension icon. It will generate an affiliate link for that page. Then you can use bit.ly to shorten that link (if configured) or copy and share it.
