This is not how we wanted to start our Blog. It's been several weeks since we reported this bug to Banggood via multiple channels, but is still not fixed.
That's why we decided to publish this post, to warn Banggood affiliates of bug that can lead to lost income.
We discovered a really nasty bug in Banggood Link Customizer. It can create affiliate links with wrong affiliate.
Take any link with affiliate ID in it, other than yours. For example here is random link taken from AndyRC Youtube Channel with his affiliate id:

Go to Banggood Link Customizer. Paste link and put any name for it
Click generate and look at the link it created.
You can also copy Short Link, paste it into your browser and look at destination after redirect
Affiliate ID is the same as in the original link (
XO2013166930201304K5). It was not replaced with appropriate affiliate ID.
Problem with this bug is that it is something that should be obvious for developers. Issues like this should be tested not only during development, but also covered with automated tests. If they missed something like this, who knows how many edge cases slipped trough.
You should be aware of this bug when you use Link customizer. Or even better, use our Chrome extension to create affiliate link, and then paste that link in customizer. That way you will be sure that your affiliate ID is there.
